Getting here
Of all Alpine towns, Chamonix is probably the easiest to reach.
The nearest airport, Geneva, is just an hour's drive from Chamonix and the Fox Hat Chalet. There are several carriers flying to Chamonix from the UK that will be of use to you, most notably EasyJet and British Airways. But you can also utilise BMI Baby, from Nottingham, Birmingham and Cardiff as well as KLM from Gatwick.
From Geneva, we can help you arrange transport by mini-bus, which will cost in the region of €40 per person each way. Alternatively, you can hire a car at Geneva. This is not only very straight forward, but it will give you greater flexibility once in the resort.
From the airport [on the Swiss side] follow the signs to France - Autoroute Blanche -Tolls. Soon you will see signs to Chamonix [A40] which will lead you to the town centre. From there follow the signs to Argentiere and Martigny. This road brings you into Les Praz.
To reach the Fox Hat go straight ahead at the small roundabout in Les Praz. After you have gone down a gun barrel straight piece of road, you cross a railway track, take the first road on your left signposted to the Excelsior Hotel. Turn right immediately opposite the hotel and the Fox Hat is first on your left.
