 St Gervais
St Gervais is a beuatiful old spa town on the edge of the Mont Blanc Massif. It's been knocking about since Napoleonic times and has charm in abundance unlike some of the purpose built monstrosities you find in other parts of the Alps.
That said, it has plenty to keep young and old interested with loads of chic bars, a variety of restaurants [with all pockets in mind], casino, cinema and a plethora of shops.
Away from the ski slopes there are also plenty of energetic and not so energetic pursuits. Ice skating, tennis and swimming are all extremely well catered for and of course there's the spa for a bit of pampering.
There are also the nearby towns of Megeve, Sallanches and Chamonix for quick jaunts and further afield [although not much more than an hour] Geneva, Annecy, Evian and Courmayeur through the Mont Mont Tunnel.
